Welcome
Thanks for visiting! We started this effort for two reasons.
1. Lake Shasta is the largest reservoir in California. It has a capacity of over 4.5 million acre feet. It has 365 miles of shoreline. That's a lot of water, right? Well, all that water is supply for the state of California. Outflow by way of the Shasta Dam and Sacramento River provides both electricity and irrigation for widespread areas of the state. When the lake doesn't get enough rain or snowpack runoff, the water is continually pulled from the lake and the level can end up being very low. If we could all just do our part to NOT WASTE water, we'll keep our consumption down across the board and maybe be able to keep that lake level up. It's all about water conservation. It's all about doing our part to save California's largest water source.
2. The lake looks amazing when it's full. It's a beautiful and serene lake surrounded by towering pine trees. And when it's full at the beginning of the summer season, we all houseboat, wakeboard and fish a little bit happier.
So wherever you live, if you are a fan of Lake Shasta, do your part to conserve water and love this lake.
