Protect and Conserve

We love Lake Shasta. And we also realize that a lot of people in California need Lake Shasta so they can brush their teeth, wash their clothes, water their lawns and irrigate a lot of crops. But California is in it's 3rd year of a drought and our water is scarce.

Unfortunately so is tourism, which the businesses on Lake Shasta depend on. We know times are tough. But houseboating is probably one of the most affordable vacation options around. And it's damn fun, fishing, wakeboarding and just enjoying the scenery.

So in times like these, we have to learn to live a little bit differently to be able to do the things we love. This blog and all the stickers we're sending out have two reasons for being. We're the League for the Love of Lake Shasta encouraging others to love it too, but we're also getting behind a movement every single person can help out with and that's water conservation.

The link below is a great resource for learning about what you can do to make a difference. And when you are done adjusting your sprinklers and fixing leaky toilets, get on up to Lake Shasta and reward yourself!

WHY CONSERVE?
